Main Duties & Responsibilities
Primary Job Role

Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering organization comprised of Application Developers, Data Engineers, and AI Engineers, establishing performance expectations, fostering professional growth, and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

 

Direct the planning, prioritization, and allocation of engineering resources, exercising independent judgment to balance competing business priorities and ensure successful delivery of strategic technology initiatives.

 

Establish, implement, and continuously improve engineering standards, software development methodology, architectural governance, quality assurance practices, and operational support frameworks.

 

Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and execute the strategic roadmap for enterprise data platforms, integrations, and AI-enabled solutions that support organizational growth, operational efficiency, and business transformation.

 

Provide leadership and governance over enterprise data architecture, ensuring the quality, integrity, security, accessibility, and lifecycle management of data assets used for business operations, reporting, analytics, and artificial intelligence initiatives.

 

Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise integrations between ERP platforms, Caterpillar systems, and third-party applications, driving process automation and business efficiency across the organization.

 

Collaborate with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technology teams to evaluate emerging business requirements, develop technology strategies, and recommend solutions that support long-term organizational objectives.

 

Establish policies, procedures, and governance standards related to software development, data management, cybersecurity, compliance, and risk mitigation, ensuring adherence to corporate and regulatory requirements.

 

Collaborate with IT leadership and key stakeholders to evaluate system performance, operational risks, and technology investments, supporting architecture planning, priority setting, and resource allocation to improve reliability, scalability, and operational effectiveness.

 

Manage departmental objectives, budgets, vendor relationships, and technology resources while measuring performance against key business and operational outcomes.

Qualifications Education and Experience

Formal Education: Bachelors Degree in a related area of study.

 

Experience: 7 or more years.

Required / Credentials

Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data pipeline tools.

 

Experience with cloud platforms and big data technologies.

 

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

 

Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
