Opportunity OverviewThe Relationship Enrollment Team, part of Wealth Planning & Onboarding, is seeking a Solution Engineer to help solve some of the organization's most complex technical challenges.
In this role, you'll partner across multiple engineering teams to evaluate solution approaches, establish architectural patterns, and address obstacles that impact scalability, reliability, maintainability, and delivery. As a hands-on technical leader, you'll build proofs of concept, validate architectural decisions, conduct technical investigations, and guide teams through complex design tradeoffs.
You'll collaborate closely with engineers, architects, product managers, and technical leaders to ensure teams have the expertise and support needed to successfully deliver high-impact solutions. Beyond solving technical challenges, you'll play a key role in mentoring others, strengthening technical decision-making, and helping develop the next generation of engineering leaders.
What You'll Do:- Serve as a trusted technical leader across multiple engineering teams.
- Solve complex engineering and technology challenges that impact the broader organization.
- Design, develop, and validate proofs of concept, prototypes, and reference implementations.
- Evaluate solution alternatives and guide teams through architectural and technical tradeoffs.
- Design experiments and testing strategies to validate performance, scalability, reliability, and feasibility.
- Establish engineering patterns, standards, and best practices that can be leveraged across teams.
- Partner with engineering teams to improve system reliability, observability, resilience, and operational excellence.
- Influence architecture and engineering decisions across multiple products and services.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leaders, helping strengthen technical capabilities throughout the organization.
Position RequirementsWhat You'll Need:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 10+ years of software engineering, infrastructure engineering, or related technical experience.
- Proven success leading complex technical initiatives with significant organizational impact.
- Deep understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, cloud-native application design, and enterprise-scale solution development.
- Strong expertise with Java and/or JavaScript and experience working across multiple technology stacks.
- Experience designing and supporting highly available, secure, scalable, and resilient production systems.
- Strong knowledge of observability practices, automated testing strategies, and operational excellence.
- Experience with microservices architectures, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), event-driven systems, and distributed technologies.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions, preferably within Microsoft Azure.
- Strong communication, collaboration, mentoring, and technical leadership skills, with the ability to influence across teams without direct management authority.
