As a Solutions Architect within the AWS WWPS Partner team, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of AWS services-including AI/ML, high-performance computing (HPC), advanced analytics, digital engineering, and manufacturing systems modernization-directly with our ecosystem of defense-sector systems integrators, consulting and technology partners. You will serve as a dedicated technical resource for high-growth defense partners navigating critical cloud adoption and modernization initiatives, owning solution design and delivery independently while collaborating with senior architects on complex or novel challenges. Your broad responsibilities will include: owning the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects; defining implementation architectures across compute, data, machine learning, and operational tooling; responding to RFPs; developing deep expertise in AWS technologies as well as broad know-how around how applications and services are constructed using the AWS platform; and serving as a subject matter expert on defense industry workflows, compliance frameworks, and the unique technical challenges of mission-critical environments.
This role requires the ability to deliver independently, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and maintain momentum across partner engagements at the project and solution level.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance.
This position may require up to 25% travel.
Key job responsibilities
- Own technical strategy and solution architecture for defense-sector partners undergoing cloud adoption, modernization, and digital transformation
- Deliver end-to-end solution designs spanning AI/ML, HPC, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing systems, and data platforms on AWS
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to partner teams, building relationships and proactively identifying opportunities to advance their cloud journey
- Bring defense industry knowledge to engagements - understanding mission-critical workflows, compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD SRG), and operational constraints unique to A&D partners
- Develop and deliver technical content, capture best-practice knowledge, and contribute to the AWS Solutions Architect community
- Collaborate with sales, business development, and senior architects to drive architectural decisions and ensure AWS is positioned as the strategic platform of choice
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in technology/software sales, pre-sales, or consulting
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Experience with AI/ML, HPC, digital engineering, advanced manufacturing, or data engineering workloads on AWS
- Familiarity with defense compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, CMMC, DoD SRG, ITAR)
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
