Job Description

Solutions Architect (SME)
The Solutions Architect SME (SAS) will act as lead over other solutions architects. The SAS will leverage tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, or similar ITSM tools to monitor and review team member assignments to ensure equitable use of resources, and to exercise quality control over tasks. Additionally, the SAS will meet with their team members daily in SCRUM fashion (10 mins) to provide an opportunity to hear risks and will mitigate as necessary. The SAS is also responsible to ensure team members coordinate across teams as necessary for more complex tasks to ensure success, and to ensure team members embrace skill enhancement through mentoring and on-the-job training moments. Solutions requiring new software, methodologies, approaches, or other changes will be coordinated with the task lead and SME forums to ensure that all solutions are in compliance with approved policy and are within the constraints of the ATO. Solution stack baselines (a list of pre-approved software and code) will be encouraged to eliminate unnecessary changes to baselines.
  • Supports business process design and technical system related to relevant applications
  • Performs impact and system analysis based on business and technical requirements
  • Leads a sub-team of designers and specification writers in support of implementation, supporting the development of test architectures and technology validation strategies
  • Develops and nurtures consensus and working relationships with technical teams and integration on projects and programs; collaborating with other technical teams in the exchange and transfer of technical knowledge and in the development and evolution of architecture standards, guidelines, reference architecture, and the systems Technology Roadmap; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Participates when needed as a technical expert in pre-sales qualification. Works closely with Project Managers and Program Managers in the design, development, and implementation of the technical content defined in the Statement of Work
  • Creates project status reports and accurately tracks/manages project issues and risks
  • This role requires knowledge and skills that are both broad and deep. Experience with designing, deploying and operationalizing application architectures, datacenters, cyber and cyber-physical system security, electromagnetic system analysis, space architecture and resilience, identity management, data analytics, artificial intelligence/machine load and multi-cloud solutions are critical to this position.
  • To be effective this position must have experience in enterprise architecture, application development, end-to-end systems analysis and be comfortable advising C-level executives as well as working with hands-on engineers. Technical focus with client site work.


Qualifications

Essential Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree within IT, Mathematics, Operations Research, and/or Engineering
  • Experience in a software development and/or engineering role within a technology company
  • Strong knowledge of IT inclusive of security, enterprise and cloud infrastructure, IoT/M2M devices and protocols, data analytics platforms
  • Strong knowledge (direct experience preferred) in structured software development including agile development, dev-ops, open source, revision control, collaborative development, test and release processes
  • Object oriented and/or embedded programming experience. C/C++, Python, JavaScript preferred
  • Self-directed organizational management
  • Good interpersonal and persuasion skills in both written and verbal communication
  • Fluent verbal and written English communications
  • Comfortable to present technical concepts to senior-level stakeholders

Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
