Position Summary

Emagine IT is seeking a Solutions Architect to design enterprise solutions that span infrastructure, network, identity, and ITSM domains for a federal government client, including sub-production (test/development) environment validation and Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR). The role establishes system information requirements, designs architectures for present and future cross-functional needs, ensures alignment with client enterprise architecture and Zero Trust principles, and supports modernization and technical-standards development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design solutions that span infrastructure, network, identity, and ITSM, ensuring security, scalability, maintainability, and operational readiness.
  • Support the build and validation of sub-production (test/development) environments used for configuration and feature testing across client environments.
  • Lead and participate in technical design reviews and architecture reviews; ensure designs account for operational support, monitoring, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Develop and follow the Operational Readiness Review (ORR) process so new functionality and processes are production-ready and O&M teams are ready to assume support.
  • Ensure architectural alignment across cloud, network, identity, and on-premises components; identify and propose solutions for architectural risks, gaps, and technical debt.
  • Embed Zero Trust principles - identity-aware access, least privilege, segmentation - into all architecture and design activities.
  • Support technical-standards and reference-architecture development and modernization roadmaps, ensuring alignment with Federal and client security requirements.
  • Produce clear design documentation and architecture diagrams and support knowledge transfer to Operations teams; route engineering changes through ERB/CCB and track deliverables in ServiceNow.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Eight (8)+ years of IT experience with four (4)+ years in solution/systems architecture for enterprise-scale environments; demonstrated design across infrastructure, network, identity, and ITSM domains.
  • Architecture practice: Experience with open-systems standards and reference models, sub-production/test-dev environments, ORR processes, and architecture governance.
  • Zero Trust: Demonstrated integration of Zero Trust principles into designs; familiarity with hybrid Azure/on-premises and identity (Entra ID/Okta) architectures.
  • Clearance & citizenship: Must currently hold an active Secret clearance and be able to maintain it throughout employment. U.S. citizenship is required for this project by the client. All personnel must satisfy government client's suitability and background-investigation requirements before receiving physical or logical access to facilities or systems.
