Key ResponsibilitiesSolution Architecture- Design end-to-end architecture for enterprise applications, cloud platforms, integrations, and infrastructure.
- Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions.
- Develop architecture diagrams, technical standards, implementation roadmaps, and solution documentation.
- Define application, API, integration, and microservices architecture standards.
- Guide engineering teams to ensure solutions are implemented according to architectural designs.
Enterprise & Cloud Strategy- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, governance, and technology roadmaps.
- Design cloud-native and hybrid solutions utilizing AWS and Azure technologies.
- Define strategies for application modernization, cloud adoption, automation, and DevOps.
- Ensure solutions support high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Governance & Security- Establish architecture governance and ensure compliance with County policies and security standards.
- Evaluate architectural risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Promote best practices for application security, identity management, system integration, and data protection.
Technical Leadership- Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to software engineers and technical teams.
- Lead architecture reviews and technical design sessions.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and development teams to deliver enterprise solutions.
- Research emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve County operations.
Stakeholder Engagement- Partner with executive leadership, IT Directors, project managers, and business stakeholders to align technology with business objectives.
- Present architecture strategies, technical recommendations, and modernization initiatives to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Build relationships with technology vendors and strategic partners.
Required QualificationsEducation & Experience- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of IT experience, including 2+ years in a Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or similar architecture-focused role.
- Experience designing enterprise applications, cloud solutions, integrations, and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud computing, APIs, security, and modern application design.
