OverviewILS Inc. is looking for a Senior Full-Stack Java Software Developer to support a federal project. The ideal candidate will have good experience designing and developing microservices-based applications using Java and related technologies. Candidate should possess strong attention to detail and good written and oral communication skills.
MUST BE LOCAL TO DC METRO AREA (hybrid support - 2 days in ILS HQ office, located in Fairfax, VA 22033).
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain microservices-based applications using Java and popular frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Struts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Write clean, well-designed, and maintainable code.
- Participate in code reviews, architecture reviews, and other technical discussions to ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability.
- Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure code quality and prevent regressions.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to identify and resolve issues.
- Continuously improve software development processes and practices.
QualificationsRequired skill sets - Extensive experience with:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related equivalent.
- At least 10 years experience in software development with microservices-based applications using Java and popular frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate, or Struts).
- Hands-on experience with Java8 / 11+, Microservices, Angular, Spring Boot, JUnit, Cucumber, AWS, Kafka, Containerization, SVN, Jenkins.
- Java full-stack development experience.
- Cloud migration (AWS)
- Relational Database Mgmt. Systems (RDBMS)
- Familiarity and experience with Software Development Kits (SDK)

• Data stores knowledge (Zookeeper, Cassandra, MongoDB, Hadoop, Acumulo)
• Databases: Oracle, MS-SQL, PostgreSQL

• Financial or Insurance industry experience plus
