SUMMARY: WR has an opportunity for a
Software Test Engineer to support the design and testing of geospatial/geographic information systems (GIS) using advanced programming languages.
Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Supports geospatial-based software design and testing with an emphasis on:
- Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs)
- Backend logic and databases
- Conducts software testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Supports the evaluation and validation of software functionality and performance.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:- Bachelor of Science degree, conferred or currently in the final year of a program, in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related scientific discipline.
- Three (3)+ years of Software Test Engineer experience.
- Strong understanding of advanced programming concepts, including:
- Object-oriented programming
- Design patterns
- Multi-threading
- Inter-process communication
- Buffering
- Persistence
- Solid understanding of data filtering, present-time filtering, future-time predictions, and interpolation/smoothing methods.
- Ability to conduct performance tuning and debugging.
- Experience with C++, C#, and/or Python programming.
- Knowledge of technologies such as ASP.NET, Blazor, .NET Core, and Mono is beneficial.
- Proficiency in a high-level programming language, with C++ and/or C# preferred.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment third-party background check which may include verification of any of the following: Employment history; Education and/or certifications; Criminal history; Driving Records; Other records or information related to the candidate's suitability for the position.Position Salary Range: $104,000 - $133,000. The listed salary range represents the typical range for this position. WR bases the offered salary on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, knowledge, and skills, scope and responsibilities of the position, and market and business considerations.
