Job Overview & Responsibilities

At ULA, as a Software Test Conductor3 you will plan, coordinate, and execute formal software and system test events, serving as the single point of authority during test execution. This role bridges engineering, integration, and verification teams to ensure tests are run to procedure, results are captured with full traceability, and anomalies are dispositioned in accordance with program requirements. The Test Conductor is responsible for the readiness, conduct, and closeout of assigned test events across development, integration, and acceptance environments supporting flight and ground software systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead formal acceptance and regression testing in accordance with approved test procedures
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts and frameworks
  • Coordinate test activities including personnel, configuration, communications, and prerequisites
  • Analyze test results, identify anomalies, and troubleshoot issues with engineering teams
  • Document test results, discrepancies, and resolutions with accuracy and completeness
  • Coordinate defect resolution and disposition with engineering, quality, and customer representatives
  • Support Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) verification and validation testing

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of software testing experience with formal verification & validation (V&V) processes
  • Demonstrated experience conducting or directing formal test events to documented procedures
  • Experience with configuration management practices and tools
  • Experience in the software/systems development and test lifecycle, including requirements traceability and verification methods
  • Experience with anomaly/discrepancy reporting and disposition processes
  • Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting
  • Strong real-time decision-making, communication, and test-discipline skills in a console or lab environment
  • Ability to read and interpret requirements, interface specifications, and test documentation
  • Proficient with Linux/Unix environments
  • Strong technical document writing skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Flexibility to support various shifts as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • C++ and Python
  • Experience in commercial aerospace, space systems, or launch vehicle programs
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated test frameworks, and integrated build/test environments
  • Working knowledge of [program-specific tools, e.g., JIRA, DOORS, Jenkins, GitLab CI, test management suites]
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop, integration lab, or system-of-systems test environments
  • Familiarity with flight software verification, avionics test, or ground segment test.


Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denver only): $113,122.00 - $188,537.00

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
