Job Overview

We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to work closely with product managers, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to define clear, implementation-ready requirements for software features, platform capabilities, and system improvements. This role is responsible for turning product intent and business needs into well-structured requirements that account for workflows, data models, APIs, integrations, edge cases, and measurable outcomes.

You will operate at the intersection of product definition and technical execution, helping shape user-facing and backend capabilities by defining detailed functional requirements, acceptance criteria, data needs, process flows, and integration expectations. The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis fundamentals with enough technical depth to work effectively with engineers on APIs, system behaviors, technical constraints, and release-ready requirements

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll make a difference by:

Product Requirements & Feature Definition
  • Partner with product managers and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for new features, product enhancements, and platform capabilities.
  • Translate product goals and business needs into clear, testable requirements including user stories, use cases, business rules, workflow definitions, and acceptance criteria.
  • Help refine feature scope by identifying assumptions, constraints, dependencies, edge cases, and expected user or business outcomes.
  • Support prioritization and roadmap discussions by clarifying business value, customer impact, technical considerations, and delivery trade-offs.

Technical Analysis, Data & Integration Definition
  • Analyze current-state and future-state workflows, system interactions, and business processes to support product and solution design.
  • Document process flows, field definitions, data mappings, API-related requirements, integration points, and business logic needed for implementation.
  • Work with engineering and architecture teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, aligned with product intent, and practical to implement.
  • Help identify exception paths, system impacts, reporting needs, and data dependencies that must be addressed during design and delivery.

Product Collaboration & Delivery Support
  • Facilitate discussions between product, business, and technical teams to align on feature intent, requirements, scope, priorities, and solution trade-offs.
  • Act as a day-to-day point of clarification for development, QA, and product teams throughout backlog refinement, sprint planning, implementation, and validation.
  • Support requirement walkthroughs, story grooming, and feature readiness reviews to ensure work is well-defined before development begins.
  • Help evaluate change requests and evolving product requirements for business impact, customer impact, technical implications, and traceability.

Validation, Quality & Product Readiness
  • Support test planning, UAT, and feature validation by ensuring requirements are complete, testable, and aligned with intended product behavior and business outcomes.
  • Participate in requirement validation, solution reviews, defect triage, and release-readiness discussions to confirm features meet functional expectations.
  • Maintain traceability from business need and product objective through implementation, validation, and release.
  • Continuously improve requirement quality, product analysis practices, and documentation standards to support better delivery outcomes.

What will help you thrive in this role?

Required
  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role supporting software product delivery.
  • Strong experience defining functional requirements for software features in a structured, detailed, and testable way.
  • Demonstrable ability to work effectively with product managers, business stakeholders, developers, QA, and architects in agile delivery environments.
  • Experience creating artifacts such as user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, use cases, data mappings, business rules, and requirement documentation.
  • Comfort working on technically oriented requirements involving APIs, integrations, workflows, data, and system behaviors.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail, traceability, and requirement quality.

Preferred
  • Experience supporting enterprise software products, platform capabilities, data flows, or integration-heavy systems.
  • Familiarity with product management and delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Visio, Lucidchart, Figma, or similar platforms.
  • Experience working with engineering teams on APIs, service contracts, data models, reporting needs, and non-functional considerations.
  • Exposure to customer-facing software, regulated enterprise environments, or platform modernization initiatives.
  • CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, Scrum certification, or similar business analysis or product-related credential.

We're looking for someone who can bring clarity to product and technical complexity, ask the right questions, and translate business needs into requirements that engineering teams can execute with confidence. This person should be comfortable working across stakeholder groups, balancing product priorities with implementation realities, and helping teams define features with enough depth to avoid ambiguity during development.

The right candidate knows how to partner closely with product and engineering, work through complexity without overcomplicating the process, and maintain strong requirement discipline across features, integrations, and evolving platform needs. If you have a track record of improving product delivery through better analysis, clearer requirements, and stronger cross-functional alignment, this role is for you.
