Job DescriptionDescription SAIC has an immediate opening for a Software Systems Engineer with systems, software and network architect experience. You will elicit, document, and communicate systems and software requirements; develop and evaluate end-to-end architecture; and ensure designs are aligned with the operational environmental constraints (e.g. bandwidth, latency, system constraints, and sustainment). The role partners with internal and external stakeholders drive technical alignment and manage dependencies. There is an expectation to keep current with the development program's progress and identify potential areas or concern as it pertains to schedule and technical expectations.
In this role you will:
- Collaborate across the project team, representing the technical requirements needed to accomplish mission objectives while seeking to understand and respond to the functional constraints that may affect technical implementation.
- Identify information and communication gaps and develop mitigation approaches to ensure that the technical team is providing well informed and effectively to the entire project team.
- Represent the technical team across key collaboration and information transfer boundaries.
- Represent the technical team in formal and informal meetings to ensure the technical requirements are appropriately understood, prioritized and utilized.
- Participate in defining and validating software architecture for a variety of developments within the office.
- Engage with technical and non-technical project team members to ensure the continued effectiveness of technical solution development.
- Interface effectively with contractor development teams to guide projects successful completion.
Qualifications- Must currently hold a TS/SCI and poly in order to be considered for this position.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science or related STEM field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with Systems Engineering and Software Architecture.
- Demonstrated expertise working with multiple vendors to develop capabilities and integrate them into an overall system architecture.
- Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Effective writing skills related to creating and editing strategic and technical briefings and documents.
- Experience with modern system software architecture.
- Experience with software development, Agile processes, and managing the use of JIRA type products.
Desired:- Experience with telecommunication technologies.
- 2+ years' experience designing and implementing acceptance testing for complex integrated systems.
- Experience with IT and Network infrastructure design to include HW specs and selection, Operating System (both Linux and Windows), Network Topologies, and integrating centralized authentication.
- Experience with at least two scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, php.)
- Experience with virtualization environments (e.g. KVM, VMWARE.)
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
