The
Software Performance Engineer is responsible for leading small to medium performance efforts with minimal oversight and be able to manage the work assignments of one other team member. This role may also be assigned as lead to a large sized project with multiple team members with oversight from leadership, as well as assigned to a large project reporting to another QA Lead. Test responsibilities include estimation, test planning, development of performance scenarios, execution of tests, document/track defects. This position may work with other QA resources, or under the direction of Performance leadership for assignments and feedback.
How You'll Shine:- Provide estimations to project managers for quality assurance activities
- Develop Performance Plans
- Performance scripting and execution
- Validate non-functional requirements are complete and testable
- Own performance defect management for assigned projects
- Develop automated tools for performance test data creation, destruction and maintenance
- Adhere to QA processes
- Collaborate in efforts to improve QA and performance practices, including software test design, coverage and execution, customer defect verification, test automation, software metrics and technical reviews
- Implement improvement opportunities
- Develop a general understanding of the software ecosystem with an emphasis on 2-4 systems
- Document or escalate risks and issues and seek help when needed
- The ability to negotiate an acceptable solution when needed
- Keep up with industry standards and trends
What You'll Bring:- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or equivalent years of experience and training
- ISTQB CT-PT Certification Preferred
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders; including managers and directors.
- Ability to influence and be persuasive.
- Ability to take ownership and deliver small to medium sized tasks while mentoring and directing team members
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
- Demonstrate negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and problems and follow through to completion
- Strong planning and managing delivery to plan as well as good organizing skills
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Pro-active with high levels of energy, tenacity, and enthusiasm to deliver results
- Exceptional focus on quality and strong attention to detail
- Experience in the vacation ownership or hospitality industry preferred
- Demonstrate competency to review and analyze system and identify test conditions/scenarios that validates those requirements, test planning, execution strategies, defect management and risk analysis.
- Demonstrated competency with a performance testing tool (LoadRunner, Blaze Meter, JMeter, etc.)
- Demonstrate proficiency with performance testing strategies for Web, middle-tier, and backend systems
- Demonstrate proficiency in minimum of one scripting (Java, Groovy, JavaScript or equivalent)
- Proficiency with Python preferred
- Ability to capture and analyze har files
- Ability to analyze system logs and large amounts of data to provide a view of performance
- Experience building and operating AI agents to accomplish performance tasks high desired
- Experience with Testing Methodologies (e.g. Agile, RUP, Iterative, Spiral, Waterfall, and XP)
- 3+ years practical experience in performance testing
- 1+ years experience building and tuning agents in an agentic framework
Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
