Position Summary: As a Group Manager of Software, you will be responsible for planning, managing and implementing all aspects of a software activities of a small software team in charge of software projects within the division. You are a self-starter, detail-oriented, organized and deadline driven. You also have strong communication skills, a "roll your sleeves up" mentality and be able to work in an Agile structure with changing priorities. You exhibit good management skills, strong architectural and technical skills in software engineering, and a good understanding of the development process for medical devices together with clinical knowledge of the targeted procedures. The position will be a combination of manager and technical contributor. The job requires you to be a team player with the ability to function well in a challenging and fast paced environment. You must be enthusiastic, positive, even tempered and have strong skills in areas of dependability, interpersonal relationships, flexibility and maturity. Essential Functions: - Manage a small software development team developing procedural software applications. - Create and maintain product and system software architecture. - Define, manage and track development timelines using agile methodologies established and used by the division - Develop prototypes, proofs of concept in addition to production-quality solutions. - Ensure efficient performance and scalability of solutions. - Highly involved in software design and development activities, and contribute to code implementation. - Contribute to verification and validation testing activities as well as documentation. - Support the development of integration/unit tests and documentation. - Demonstrate a passion for medical devices and product development, software craftsmanship, and test-driven development. - Understanding of an FDA design control environment. - Supports manufacturing, internal testing, and external customers when presented with quality issues. Prioritizes work to identify the root cause and create a corrective plan that ensures timely resolution of issues. - Attend procedural cadaver labs and surgeries. - Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. - Adhere to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensure Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role. - Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree with 7-10 years of professional experience or Master's degree with 5-7 years of experience. - Experience in Medical Device development - Experience in Medical Imaging, Surgical Navigation or Medical Image Processing is a plus - Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills - Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of professional software development experience OR a Master's degree - Object oriented C++ development, including C++17 and later - Qt and QML framework experience - Test-driven programming - Medical device or life sciences experience are an asset - Experience with GIT source control and pull request processes a plus - Ability to work independently and as a key contributor in small or large teams - Excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills - Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Office, and E-mail - Ability to travel internationally up to 5% of the time Physical Demands: The physical demands listed here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl - Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds - Required to possess specific visons abilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and capacity to adjust focus Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
