What You'll Do- Own the Global API and unified platform, ensuring the infrastructure that Elite, Syrinx, and Essentials all depend on stays reliable and well-documented.
- Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, balancing hands-on technical guidance with day-to-day people management.
- Stay in the codebase yourself, this is not a pure-oversight role. You're expected to ship real code, not just review pull requests.
- Drive daily use of agentic AI development tools across the team, building reusable skills, sub-agents, and workflows rather than relying on one-off prompting.
- Produce and maintain the technical artifacts such as, ERDs, swim-lane diagrams, and API flow documentation that keep cross-team dependencies visible to everyone who needs them.
- Partner with engineering and product leadership across every RMS product to keep the Global API roadmap aligned with what each product line actually needs.
- Estimate realistically, flag risk early, and deliver on commitments without requiring follow-up.
- Manage scheduling, time off, performance conversations, and other standard people-management responsibilities for your team.
- Recommend headcount, tooling, and process improvements to engineering leadership, and participate directly in hiring for your team.
- Serve as the person other teams turn to when they need to understand how a change to the Global API will affect their product.
What You Bring- 8+ years of professional software development experience, ideally including ownership of a shared API, integration layer, or platform used by multiple products or teams.
- Daily, hands-on experience with agentic AI coding tools. You should be comfortable building custom skills, sub-agents, or workflows around these tools, and able to speak specifically to what you've built.
- Strong full-stack experience: backend (Node, Python, .NET, PHP, or similar) and front-end SPA framework (Angular, Vue, React, or similar)
- Solid experience with an RDBMS (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, or similar), including comfort designing and revising ERDs on the spot.
- Strong, proactive communication skills. This role sits between multiple teams and requires someone engaged with collaborative

- Preferred: CS/Math/Computer Engineering degree, or equivalent hands-on experience with algorithms, design patterns, and data structures.
