Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, design, development, deployment, and support of cloud-native, scalable, secure, and resilient software solutions.
Build, coach, and develop high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Drive adoption of Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, and DevSecOps best practices.
Partner with Product, Business, Architecture, Security, and Platform Engineering teams to define and execute strategic technology roadmaps.
Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture reviews, solution design, code reviews, and complex technical problem resolution.
Lead production support, incident management, root cause analysis, and service improvement initiatives to ensure operational excellence and system reliability.
Champion cloud modernization, platform transformation, automation, and technical debt reduction programs that improve scalability and delivery velocity.
Drive quarterly planning, delivery execution, risk management, and accountability for achieving business outcomes, quality metrics, and platform sustainability.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Six to eight years of relevant technical experience
- Five or more years of leading a software engineering team
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of engineering leadership and people management experience.
Deep expertise in AWS, Cloud-Native Development, Platform Engineering, and large-scale Distributed Systems.
Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architectures.
Hands-on experience deploying and operating Kubernetes and containerized applications in production environments.
Strong knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), DevSecOps, and Automated Testing practices.
Experience with Observability, Monitoring, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Performance Optimization, and operational support.
Proven success leading Technology Modernization, Cloud Transformation, Automation, and Engineering Productivity initiatives, including adoption of AI-powered development tools.
Exceptional Leadership, Stakeholder Management, Communication, and Strategic Planning skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive measurable business value.
Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $126,820.00 - $149,200.00
