As a Software Engineering Director, you will lead a large engineering organization responsible for the stability, resiliency, and modernization of critical card processing platforms. You will lead managers and senior engineers within a blended workforce of employees and contractors, owning delivery outcomes across mainframe and Java-based systems.

  • Provide technical leadership across mainframe and distributed systems, supporting teams during complex delivery challenges, production incidents, and escalations.
  • Drive execution of large, high-visibility initiatives, ensuring predictable delivery, transparency, and effective risk management across competing priorities.
  • Lead and advance modernization efforts, including modernization on or off the mainframe, while maintaining uninterrupted business operations.
  • Strengthen engineering practices through sound design decisions, quality standards, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Develop and coach engineering managers and senior engineers, with a focus on career development, upskilling, and succession planning.
  • Build strong partnerships with product, architecture, operations, and business leaders to align technology delivery with business priorities.
  • Champion agile and product-oriented delivery models while maintaining accountability for results.
