Position Summary

Title: Software Engineer

Job Location: 100 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10013

Note: Company "Hybrid" work attendance policy: In-office work attendance required at the aforementioned office address for collaboration days based on each team's requirement; telecommuting / working from home is permissible for remainder of the same month.

Duties: Develop and engineer new and enhance existing quantitative modeling, optimization, and execution software technology for equities, futures, foreign exchange, fixed income, and derivatives. Fully automate business processes using software that is highly reliable, scalable, performant, extensible, and maintainable. Improve a large-scale, distributed trading software platform by implementing innovative software architecture and computer algorithms. Directly work with researchers, portfolio managers, and traders to gather and satisfy software requirements for the trading software platform. Provide software production operational support for the trading platform.

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Position does not require specific years of experience but requires listed skills.

Skills required: Must have experience with relational databases, including query and manipulation of databases using SQL. Must have experience with UNIX based or Linux operating systems, including shell scripting languages. Must have experience with distributed systems and multi-threaded applications, including remote procedure and messaging protocols across networks. Must have experience with software development lifecycle paradigms and methodologies, including planning, tracking, version control (including Git), dependency management, build, test, and deployment. Must have experience with analysis, debugging, automation, and improvement of software performance. Must have experience with testing and debugging software systems using Junit. Must have experience with structured and object-oriented programming, including Java and/or Python. Must have experience with programmatically developing user interfaces (UIs), particularly through usage of frameworks such as React or SwiftUI. Must have experience with a cloud service platform and with REST APIs. Must pass company's required skills assessment. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Rate of pay: The base pay for this role will be between $165,000 and $325,000 per year. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans and 401(k) contributions. Discretionary bonus can be a significant portion of total compensation. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
