In this role, you will work independently or as part of a team to design, review, test, and document software components to ensure adherence to design requirements. You will also resolve software problem reports and apply software development and design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. This position involves providing input to system design decisions, including hardware and software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-Shelf or Government Off-the-Shelf solutions, and requirements analysis and synthesis from the system level to individual software components. You will work in a secure environment supporting critical mission objectives.

Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to analyze user requirements, system performance standards, system flows, data usage, and work processes to derive software design, functional, and performance requirements in coordination with system and hardware engineers.
  • Must possess the ability to design, develop, code, and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models, including adding new features, correcting defects, adapting to new hardware, and improving system performance.
  • Must be capable of developing and implementing algorithms, including complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints, to meet or exceed functional and performance standards.
  • Must have the ability to integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments, coordinate software system installation, and monitor equipment functionality to ensure operational specifications are met.
  • Must possess the ability to develop simple and complex database or data repository interfaces and queries and support software solutions involving large or complex data sets.
  • Must be capable of writing, reviewing, implementing, and recommending improvements to software and system documentation and software development process standards, and performing quality control on team products.
  • Must have the ability to assist with and oversee software testing activities, serve as a team lead when appropriate, oversee one or more software development teams, and ensure work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process used on the project.
  • Must have fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, OR eighteen (18) years of Software Engineer experience on projects with similar software processes if a degree is not held.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.

Salary Range:
A variety of factors can impact the final salary offered, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant work experience, specialized skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
