ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join Team TKO in supporting the Cybersecurity Infrastructure (CI) effort. In this high-visibility role in Annapolis Junction, MD, you will contribute directly to defending the nation's most critical unclassified and classified networks by serving on the CI Integration team focused on Identity Intelligence. As a senior engineer at Nyla, you will partner closely with Mission and Operations stakeholders to design and implement complex data extraction capabilities that parse, transform, and derive intelligence from diverse data streams. You will also serve as an innovation catalyst-expanding existing AI tools and developer agents to optimize software development, accelerate unit testing, and streamline debugging. The annual base salary range for this role is $216,000-$256,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills
Core Programming: Strong, hands-on development expertise in both Java and Python.
Data Extraction & Parsing: Deep experience with regex, pattern matching, structured/semi-structured data parsing, and transformation techniques.
Troubleshooting & Testing: Mastery in software debugging, root-cause analysis, unit testing, and regression testing across production environments.
Tooling & Environment: Proficiency with Git, Maven, Linux/shell command-line tools, and modern IDEs (e.g., VS Code).
Codebase Fluency: Proven ability to navigate, understand, and safely modify large, mature software systems without breaking existing functionality.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, paired with relevant full-lifecycle software development experience (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on professional experience) PLUS 20+ years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 24+ years of specialized technical experience in lieu of a degree.
Desired Skills
Experience with AI-assisted software development and LLM developer tooling (e.g., Claude Code, AI coding agents, prompt-driven automation, and reusable skills).
Familiarity with high-throughput messaging, event-driven architectures, or stream processing frameworks.
Experience integrating identity intelligence, cybersecurity analytics, or threat data streams.
