Software Engineer (SWE 2) to join our technical team in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this role, you will analyze user requirements to derive software design specifications, develop and maintain diverse application capabilities, debug complex system defects, and drive process improvements across the software development lifecycle.
The annual base salary range for this role is $183,000-$217,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills- Software Engineering Practice: Demonstrated mid-level experience in full-lifecycle software development, application design, maintenance, and enhancement.
- Requirements Derivation: Proven capability to analyze functional user requirements and map them to technical software design and performance specifications.
- Debugging & Refactoring: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to debug existing codebases, isolate bugs, and implement defect corrections.
- Core Programming: Proficiency in modern software development languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java) within Linux or Unix operating environments.
- Version Control: Hands-on experience using Git version control systems for branching, merging, and collaborative development.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Data Analytics, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, Finance/Economics, or a related discipline, PLUS 7+ years of specialized data analytics or financial intelligence experience OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 11+ years of hands-on intelligence analysis, financial tracking, and data discovery experience in lieu of a degree.
Desired SkillsProcess & Documentation Standardizing: Experience contributing to software documentation standards, code quality metrics, and peer review guidelines.
Agile Software Development: Practical experience working within Agile/Scrum teams using the Atlassian Tool Suite (
Jira,
Confluence).
CI/CD & Containerization: Exposure to modern continuous integration and deployment pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins) and container platforms (e.g., Docker).
