ACTIVE SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TS/SCI POLYGRAPH LEVEL IS REQUIRED
As a Software Engineer on Team Nyla, you will bring your technical creativity and collaborative energy to design, build, maintain, and enhance complex software components tailored to exact customer needs. Working independently or alongside a team of brilliant, ever-curious engineers, you'll tackle everything from hardware/software trade-offs and COTS/GOTS integration to end-to-end component testing and problem resolution. The annual base salary range for this role is $186,000-$220,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
Required Skills
Software Development & Design: Proven ability to build, maintain, and enhance complex software systems using industry-standard design methodologies across the full development lifecycle.
Problem Solving & Testing: Hands-on experience reviewing code, resolving software problem reports (SPRs), and testing software components against documented design requirements.
System Trade-off & Synthesis Analysis: Track record of analyzing system-level requirements and breaking them down into modular software components, including evaluating hardware/software trade-offs and software reuse.
COTS/GOTS Integration: Ability to evaluate and integrate Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS) solutions in place of custom development where optimal.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, PLUS 14+ years of professional software engineering experience OR High School Diploma / GED, PLUS 18+ years of hands-on technical software development experience in lieu of a degree.
Desired Skills
Experience developing for processing-intensive analytics, algorithm-heavy workflows, or real-time systems.
Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, microservices, or big data processing framework tools.
Active involvement in continuous learning, prototype development, or emerging tech exploration.
Outstanding communication skills with a team-first, collaborative mindset.
