Support multiple collaborative systems and software projects with academic and industry partners in research environments around the world. Develop and transition research and prototype software and systems solutions to production environments and contribute to open-source software projects that advance hybrid cloud development and systems understanding.
What You Will Do:- Develop, test, deploy and operate software for distributed research environments built with OpenShift, OpenStack and other open-source software such as Vault and Ansible.
- Develop, deploy, upgrade, monitor and troubleshoot software in research environments such as the Mass Open Cloud Alliance, as well as in university research computing environments in North America.
- Develop, test and contribute software to open-source projects to help advance research computing.
- Work with researchers to design, train and optimize AI software with Machine Learning for LLMs, visual models, and other algorithms relevant to specific science applications in computer science, natural sciences, medical sciences and other relevant research areas.
- Participate in software development research projects, as well as student-oriented development and education activities such as hackathons, tutorials and mentoring independent student projects.
What You Will Bring:- Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Position requires working knowledge of the following skills gained through coursework or experience: software development experience with multiple programming languages; distributed software development, including containers; software design and implementation, including significant open-source contributions to projects with teams of developers and system engineers; AI models, measurement and optimization, including primary responsibility for designing and deploying varied models; using and maintaining Linux including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL); developing and releasing software using Agile processes with a distributed team; development tools, repositories and CI/CD platforms; and working as a primary advisor for users and design engineers in a research or production computing environment.

The salary range for this position is $110,940 - $177,280/year. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
