Bill Me Later, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer in Scottsdale, AZ
Job Duties: Develop and maintain backend software services using Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch. Design and implement RESTful APls for PayPal Credit features and integrations. Troubleshoot and debug live issues to ensure software system reliability and quick recovery. Write unit and integration tests to ensure high software code quality and coverage. Optimize performance of backend software systems and improve service efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals and to deliver high-quality products. Apply secure software coding practices and follow industry standards to protect user data. Maintain advanced proficiency in backend development using Java, messaging systems (like Apache Kafka, etc), Spring framework, Spring Boot, Cloud Platforms (AWS or GCP), SQL, RESTful APIs, Distributed Systems, Junit, Selenium, Mockito, Postman, Git and database systems (like Oracle or MySQL). Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience in designing and developing large-scale distributed software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java (2 years)
2. Designing and building RESTful APIs for microservices (2 years)
3. Developing enterprise system using Spring Frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, Spring Batch, and WebSocket. (1 year)
4. Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP or equivalent (1 year)
5. Applying data structures and algorithms, along with using enterprise design patterns (2 years)
6. Strong understanding of database design, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience with ORM tools and framework like Hibernate. (2 years)
7. Experience in building asynchronous event-driven enterprise system using messaging frameworks like Apache Kafka or equivalent, etc. (1 year)
8. Experience in optimizing system performance and reliability (1 year)
9. Experience in designing and developing scalable, high-performance microservices (1 year)
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
Scottsdale, Arizona | Salary: $111,072.00-171,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
