DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code- related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Full Stack Java Developer, Systems Engineer, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Master's degree in Information Technology, Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Full Stack Java Developer, Systems Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following: Designing, developing, and managing distributed backend microservices architecture using Java, JUnit, React, and J2EE; Implementing enterprise-level features and messaging using JMS and JavaBeans; Developing web applications using Servlets, JSP, JSF, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot; Applying web technologies including HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, DOM traversal, JavaScript, Angular, AJAX, XML, and Bootstrap; Designing, developing, and testing SOAP and RESTful APIs using Postman and Swagger; Implementing authentication between software applications using OAuth2; Performing testing using Jasmine and Cucumber; Designing, implementing, and managing databases using Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cassandra; Managing database interactions using JDBC and Hibernate; Optimizing JDBC data access logic and PL/SQL procedures for application data flow, security, and performance; Developing Java applications using IntelliJ and Eclipse; Automating project builds using Maven; Containerizing applications using Docker and orchestrating deployments using Kubernetes; Automating CI/CD processes using Jenkins; Inspecting code quality and identifying vulnerabilities using SonarQube; Recording and managing logs using Log4j and Splunk; Monitoring cloud performance and services using AWS and Dynatrace; Tracking issues and tasks in Agile environments using JIRA; Implementing Agile SDLC methodologies for iterative development and continuous improvement; Deploying Java-based applications on web servers using Apache Tomcat, GlassFish, and IIS; Building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications using Kafka; Managing IT services and automating workflows using ServiceNow.
