Required
  • Understands and practices development management but also has an appropriate sense of practicality (not preaching textbook practices)
    • Source code management
    • Deployment process
    • Testing process
    • Stories management
  • Coaches and mentoring of staff
  • Ability to execute and deliver on time
  • Able to deal with ambiguity
  • Able to handle more than 1 priority at a time
  • Able to build and grow an effective team
  • Able to work with remote and in office (hybrid) teammates across multiple timezones
  • High desire to continuously learn new things
  • Not a "talker"
  • Able to learn high level business purposes of functionality
  • Appropriate level of escalation when there are challenges
  • Hands on technology skills
    • SQL Server
    • SSIS or ETL equivalent
    • Stored Procedures/Transact SQL
    • Indexes
    • Basic database design and performance tuning skills
    • DDL, DML
    • Other DB design & implementation
  • Prior experience as a software engineer/developer having created and supported complex data systems
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred
  • Prior experience as a software engineer/developer having created and supported complex data transactional based systems
  • Other technical knowledge, such as but not limited to:
    • Big data platforms
    • Python
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline

Nice to Have
  • Knowledge of integrating with other systems through multiple methods (API, ETL, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SSRS
  • Knowledge and prior practice of object-oriented principles
  • Prior knowledge of financial industries
