Full Job Description
The selected candidate will support the Space Data Networking Experimentation (SDNX) risk reduction for the fielding of a future Hybrid Space Network (HSN) by prototyping an advanced hardware network appliance for use with software defined networking technology.
The successful candidate will have a commendable work ethic, good communication skills, a great attitude, be a results-oriented team player, creative thinker, and problem-solver, and follow all ethical standards of the Lockheed Martin Corporation.
The responsibilities include supporting software design and development activities using the best software development practices as well as supporting critical test preparation and events that will occur in the Rockville, MD facility. Candidate will also perform integration with router products, network configuration, and scenario testing.
Basic Qualifications
• Software development experience and proficiency in C++, Linux, and Python
• Ability to support occasional short-term domestic business travel (up to 25%)
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, GitLab)
• Ability to obtain a US government security clearance
Desired Skills
• Familiarity with containerization and virtualization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, VMs)
• Familiar with standard network protocols - IP, MPLS, IPSec and packet forwarding concepts
• Experience in requirements definition
• Familiar with Interface Control Document (ICD) definitions
• Experience with COTS Cisco/Juniper routers configuration and testing
• Experience with AWS, including AWS CDK and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Networking-related certifications such as Cisco DevNet Associate, CCNA, or CCNP
• Familiarity with FPGA/adaptive SoC evaluation boards (e.g., AMD Versal VCK190)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00
The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
