Title:
Software Engineer, Lead Associate
Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate will mentor and lead junior and mid-level engineers to build proofs of concept for one-of-a-kind capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing peer testing and code review, troubleshooting and debugging issues, contributing to all levels of the architecture, maintaining key system technical documentation, and developing a familiarity with new tools and best practices.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and further implementation of best practices in software development, unit testing, agile scrum, and DevSecOps.
- Collaborating with the team to author technical reports and demonstrate capabilities to both internal and external stakeholders.
Work Environment:
- Location: On-Site – 8300 Professional Place, Landover, MD
- Travel Requirements: Up to 50% (CONUS and OCONUS)
- Working Hours: Willingness to work outside of normal working hours
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience/Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or another technical field with 5 years of experience or Master’s degree and no years of relevant experience or;
- Masters (MS/MA) in a related field with 3 years of experience
- Active Security Clearance:Secret required to start, with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
- Active Security+ Certification, or equivalent, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months from start date
- Strong knowledge of C, C++, Java, or other C-style, cross-platform programming languages
- Experience developing software for and configuring Linux and/or Unix systems
- Demonstrated experience writing, testing, and debugging software
- Ability to develop and document system-level design options, including integration with commercial and government off-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) systems and software
- Experience with version control, issue tracking, and documentation tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Adaptability and initiative to perform a wide variety of tasks to achieve program success
Desired Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Active Security+ Certification
- Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems
- Linux development experience at both user and kernel levels
- Experience modifying and compiling large open-source codebases
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker
- Experience with DevSecOps tools such as GitLab, SonarQube, Coverity, etc.
- Experience with dnf package management using local repositories
Basic Compensation:$101,500 - $152,200 (This range is for Maryland only)
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
