We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to support USSF in the development of a next-generation satellite testbed environment. In this role, you will contribute to the design and implementation of both flight-software-representative applications and ground station software used to exercise, validate, and integrate space system behaviors. You will work within an advanced hardware-in-the-loop flat-satellite test configuration that simulates spacecraft functions.
As part of a collaborative engineering team, you will participate across the software lifecycle-including requirements interpretation, architecture, implementation, integration, automated testing, and system troubleshooting. You will develop high-reliability C software as your primary responsibility, with additional tasks in C++ and Python to support scripting, test automation, and tooling. You will regularly report progress and technical status to the software lead and contribute to a fast-paced Agile environment focused on mission readiness. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to quality are essential for success in this role.
Required- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
- 5+ years of experience developing software in C/C++
- Experience with Python
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Experience applying software engineering and project tools (configuration control, CI/CD pipelines and workflows, etc.)
- Experience with software testing
- Knowledge of Scrum or other Agile methodologies
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
