Demonstrated success implementing security best practices and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
Proficient in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Experience in containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS
Deep understanding of networking and security principles, including encryption
Skilled in building observability systems with platforms like Datadog or Grafana
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go for automation.
Responsibilities
Serve as a founding member of the Infrastructure & Security team, ensuring platform reliability and security compliance.
Own the SOC 2 Type II compliance process, including implementing security controls and liaising with auditors.
Design and implement comprehensive observability systems for logging, monitoring, and alerting across infrastructure.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for rapid, safe deployments.
Optimize system performance and cost-efficiency as the customer base and transaction volumes grow.
Manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including networking and security configurations.

You will
Be a founding member of the Infrastructure & Security team, responsible for the platform reliability, security posture, and compliance readiness that enables Basic Capital to scale with confidence
Own Basic Capital's ongoing SOC 2 Type II compliance, implementing security controls, documenting processes, and working with auditors to achieve and maintain certification
Design and implement comprehensive observability systems including logging, monitoring, alerting, and distributed tracing across our infrastructure
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and infrastructure-as-code that enable fast, safe releases
Optimize system performance, latency, and cost efficiency as we scale to serve more customers and handle increasing transaction volumes
Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS) including networking, security groups, IAM policies, and compliance-related configurations
