What you'll do...

As a Software Engineer III at Walmart, you will lead the design and development of scalable software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management and user experience. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions while ensuring high-quality code and adherence to security standards. This role involves managing projects of varying complexity, supporting continuous integration and delivery, and mentoring junior engineers. Your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will contribute to delivering impactful technology that supports Walmart's business objectives and operational excellence.

The Subscriptions Team supports one of the largest e-commerce platforms globally, managing critical systems that process billions of transactions annually with high reliability and speed. The team delivers scalable, innovative solutions enhancing the shopping experience from selection to checkout, integrating AI-driven recommendations and omnichannel features. Collaborating with experienced engineers, team members engage in continuous learning and technical growth within a dynamic environment. Their work directly advances Walmart's business goals and customer satisfaction by ensuring seamless, efficient commerce experiences through robust platform design and development.
What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define high-level design and technical solutions for projects.
  • Develop, test, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-quality software components and applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues through root cause analysis and effective action plans.
  • Lead small engineering groups by providing guidance, documentation, and mentorship.
  • Implement automation scripts to support continuous integration and delivery processes.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, security policies, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor application performance and participate in defect management and regression testing.
  • Support business needs by evaluating technical feasibility and recommending solutions.

What you'll bring:
  • 4+ years of experience in software development, with 3+ years in Android development Kotlin
  • Experience developing and testing Serverside APIs for mobile and web clients using Node.js, Java, Go, etc. GraphQL APIs using Apollo is a plus.
  • Work with Kotlin, Coroutines, Flow/LiveData, MVVM & MVI architectures, Retrofit, GraphQL
  • Experience with Android framework components and their lifecycles; strong knowledge of multithreading, networking performance tuning.
  • Experience with Android SDKs, Jetpack libraries, and lifecycle-aware architecture.
  • Familiarity with public cloud technologies such as Azure
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, translating requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
