Position Description & QualificationsSerco supports CMS, a federal agency within the United States Department of Health and Human Services that administers the Medicare program and works in partnership with state governments to continue supporting eligibility determinations for consumers purchasing health insurance through the Federal Health Insurance Exchanges. As aFull Stack Software Engineer,you will be responsible for designing, testing, planning, implementing, protecting, operating, managing and maintaining applications.
In this role, you will:- Design, develop and maintain full stack applications (frontend, backend, APIs)
- Support and / or install software applications/operating systems.
- Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
- Provide technical support to project team members.
- Demonstrate expertise in a variety of fields, concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Design and implement AI-powered features using LLMs via AWS Bedrock
- Build and maintain retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines
- Integrate AI models into microservices and APIs
- Assist in evaluating and improving model outputs
- Experience with Python for AI/ML or API development
- Basic experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, or AI APIsA wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- May report to an executive or a manager.
To be successful in this role, you will have: - A Bachelor`s degree and 2-4 years of experience.
- US Citizenship.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Java, relevant open-source frameworks like Spring, Hibernate.
- Hands on experience on microservices framework like Springboot, Quarkus, etc.
- Analyze and troubleshoot application issues in a timely fashion.
- Enthusiasm for software development, innovation, and a desire to work in a great team atmosphere.
- Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, SOAP, RPC).
- Experience with GIT, Maven, and modern IDE's (Eclipse/IntelliJ).
- Hands on experience on Container Technologies (like Docker, Podman), Container Orchestration Technologies like ECS, etc.
- Hands-on experience working on AWS Technologies such as S3, Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, AWS Batch, CloudWatch, etc.
- Building APIs or microservices.
- Creating AI-powered web apps (chatbots, dashboards).
- Working with serverless functions (e.g., AWS Lambda in Node.js).
- Integrating AI into frontend/backends.
- Familiarity with AI concepts like Models, Prompt Engineering, RAG, Agentic AI, GPT, etc.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- AWS Certification.
- Understanding of Agile/SAFe methodologies.
- Knowledge on AWS Bedrock, Python, Sagemaker, and related tools are preferred.
