Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Within Azure Data, the messaging and real-time analytics team provides comprehensive solutions and a robust platform that enables users to ingest high granularity signals (real-time & observability) and complex data, converting those into a competitive advantage in real-time for both end users and modern applications.

The Real-Time Unified Experiences team at Microsoft Fabric is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape the future of real-time intelligence products. We're building solutions that deliver timely, data-driven insights through AI, enabling users to interpret millions of daily events and make informed decisions instantly. We need skilled frontend engineers to create exceptional user experiences for our applications, helping users unlock the full potential of their data. You'll tackle complex technical challenges, leveraging cutting-edge open-source web technologies to build modern, high-performance, reliable, secure, responsive, and accessible user interfaces. Key technologies include React/Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, PNPM (package manager), Vite (bundler), Turbo (monorepo and tooling), Playwright (end-to-end testing), and TanStack (routing and query).

Responsibilities

Independently uses appropriate artificial intelligence tools and practices across the software development lifecycle. Works with appropriate internal stakeholders to understand customer/user requirements for a set of features. Creates a clear test strategy that ensures solution quality, executes test plans, and builds testable code. Creates extensible and maintainable product feature code for minimal defects. Reviews product feature code to ensure it contains the correct test coverage and follows team standards. Implements debugging tools, tests, logs, and telemetry to verify assumptions. Strives for automation within production deployment aiming for zero-touch when possible. Applies and reviews coding patterns, security risks, and compliance issues in code reviews. Applies security practices to achieve security hardening across product features.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
