As aSoftware Engineer II- Enterprise Payments at Frost, you are our code guru, not only configuring the systems but understanding the whys behind them. Our software engineers believe in collaboration, ingenuity, and truly want to drive design and change in the IT realm. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, configuring, testing, implementing, supporting, and documenting solutions for assigned applications across the organization. You welcome a challenge and want to provide next level experiences to every individual that uses our systems.
What youll do:
- Design, write, test, implement, and document solutions for assigned program modules
- Collaborate with project teams and other Software Engineers to provide technical support
- Support assigned IT systems/applications by troubleshooting and resolving defects
- Always take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes
What youll need:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, in a related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to independently identify program issues and develop the appropriate solution, typically requiring at least 2 years of experience
- Strong understanding of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures associated with programming
- Demonstrated experience with Java and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, etc.)
- Experienced in developing integration, middleware, RESTful services, and/or APIs
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in APIs, web services, and java-based applications
- Solid experience working in a Linux and/or IBM AIX environment
- Relevant experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or similar
- Strong troubleshooting skills across application and system layers
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cloud, microservices, Spring Boot, and APIs
- Knowledge of container frameworks like OpenShift, Docker, or Kubernetes
- Knowledge on CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, or similar
- Working experience with event driven/messaging frameworks such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or IBM MQ
- Understanding of microservice architecture in Java
