Job Description:
Job OverviewResponsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions used in manufacturing processes from development through production deployment. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the Software Engineer I will contribute to manufacturing process control systems, data collection applications, automation solutions, and user interfaces that improve safety, quality, delivery, and operational efficiency
Job Requirements- Assist in the development and testing of software applications using C++, C, and Python.
- Support implementation of manufacturing process control systems and automation solutions.
- Contribute to development of user interfaces and operator tools.
- Participate in software debugging, testing, validation, and documentation activities.
- Maintain software code and implement enhancements under established design standards.
- Support deployment of software solutions in manufacturing environments.
Data Collection & Monitoring Systems- Support development and maintenance of manufacturing data collection systems.
- Assist in monitoring production system performance and investigating system issues.
- Develop reports and dashboards that improve visibility to manufacturing performance.
- Support integration of equipment and manufacturing databases.
Manufacturing Support- Assist production teams in troubleshooting software-related manufacturing issues.
- Participate in root-cause investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Support continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, and automation.
- Provide technical support during equipment installation and commissioning activities.
Documentation & Compliance- Create and maintain software documentation, work instructions, and technical specifications.
- Follow TE engineering, cybersecurity, EHS, and software development standards.
- Maintain proper version control and change management practices.
What your background should look like• Bachelor's Degree in:
o Computer Science
o Software Engineering
o Computer Engineering
o Electrical Engineering
o Related technical discipline
• Experience with one or more of the following:
o C++
o C
o Python
• Understanding of:
o Object-oriented programming concepts
o Software debugging techniques
o Version control systems (Git preferred)
o Basic database concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
• Internship, co-op, academic project, or research experience involving software development.
• Exposure to:
o Manufacturing systems
o Industrial automation
o Machine vision
o Robotics
o SQL databases
o User interface development

CompetenciesCOMPENSATION• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience:$68,700-$103,000(subject to change dependent on physical location)
• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
