About the role
Everfox has an immediate need for a Software Engineer to enhance the capabilities of cyber products for security-conscious government and commercial customers. The position is responsible for developing and testing new product capabilities, software development/build tools, software test infrastructure, and operational support for Cross Domain products.The ideal candidate is a self-starter who works well in a cohesive team environment and is motivated to grow and learn across a wide range of software development and operational tools used to test, debug, and support software for secure Linux desktop environments, enterprise IT operations and management, IP networking/routing, and remote/virtual desktop deployments.


Location: Richardson, TX – On-Site

Work Schedule:

  • Full Time, Monday – Friday (standard work schedule with flexibility for mission critical requirements).
  • This position may require some minimum travel as needed to meet customer and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Demonstrate competency working hands-on in Linux-based environments.
  • Develop new features and extensions to existing products using a variety of programming languages, including Rust, C, C++, Java, and proprietary languages.
  • Utilize Linux and scripting expertise to integrate new features and extensions into complex products.
  • Leverage standard networking concepts to support the design and implementation of Cross Domain capabilities.
  • Develop data inspection policies using proprietary and open-source programming languages.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Information Security or equivalent
  • Experience with software development in Linux environments using a variety of programming and scripting languages including Java, Python, Go, C/C++, and/or bash
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking & related protocols (such as HTTP, SSH, IPSEC, TLS/SSL, etc)
  • Basic understanding of private and public keys and or certificates
  • Experience with version control technologies such as Git
  • Red Hat Enterprise, Fedora or Ubuntu Linux operating systems
  • If needed the applicant must have the ability to obtain the appropriate work authorizations that may be required under U.S. ITAR or EAR regulations from the applicable U.S government ageny.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with security design and architecture of Cross Domain solutions (CDS)
  • Agile or Scrum development experience
  • Experience with deploying cloud technologies such as MS Azure or AWS
  • Development experience in a distributed, parallel or clustered processing environment
  • Experience with virtual desktop redisplay technologies such as RDP, Citrix Receiver or VMware Horizon View

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is:

$74,100.00-107,300.00 USD

The actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidates' unique experience, locale, and business needs. In addition to a base salary and bonus plans, Everfox offers a generous benefits package including flexible PTO, a 401k match, and contribution to healthcare coverages.
