ABOUT THIS ROLEThe
Software Engineer I will be part of Apex's, Apex Leadership & Development Program (ALDP). ALDP program is our star early career development initialtive designed to develop well rounded leader with GREATness (Grit, Results, Empathy, Accountability, & Teamwork). You'll go through an intensive 6-8 week cross-functional training program to learn financial services and align to a specific department. The program is designed for new graduates and will provide ongoing education and career development. Software Engineers are free to explore unique solutions and try fresh ideas that may benefit our financial services and trading businesses, and our investment companies.
This opportunity is expected to begin July 2025 at our Austin, Texas office location. Duties/Responsibilities: - Working with a variety of languages/frameworks, such as Java, Go, Python and technologies such as RDBMS, Kubernetes, and Docker, Google Cloud Platform
- Designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining and improving software
- Building resilient, self-scaling, self-healing services that allow you to sleep through the night
- Writing high-quality, well-tested code. Maintaining high code-quality standards across your team via code reviews
- Attending training to learn about options trading and financial markets
- Encouraging innovation by questioning business processes throughout the company

Required Skills/Abilities: - Experience of software development skills in a modern object-oriented programming language ideally Java / Go, or Python or C#, an RDBMS, and the ability to learn new languages and technologies quickly
- Availability for a late June 2025 start date
- Ability to relocate to Austin, TX
- Excellent problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Effective communication skills
- Previous knowledge in financial markets isn't required, but interest is a plus
- Adaptability: while you enjoy establishing process and standards, you understand the need to be flexible and enjoy trying new things
Education and/or Experience: - Grad date scheduled in Spring or Early Summer of 2026
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline or relevant years experience
- Minimum requirement of a 3.0 GPA
