deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

As a software developer on the GMD Weapon System (GWS) Fire Control (GFC) team, you will work in collaborative environment to understand, implement, and test existing and new capabilities and algorithms and modernize and translate Ada code to C++. The algorithms and capabilities that are designed for the Engagement Planner team are mathematics and physics based complex systems that will be highly visible to the GWS customer, Missile Defense Agency (MDA). You will also be expected to support reviews of requirements and test cases that are developed in support of the Engagement Planner team.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in STEM related field, ideally Math or Physics

Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM related field, ideally Math or Physics, and 2 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with 0 years of related experience, not to exceed 10 years
  • Experience with solving highly mathematical and physics based complex problems
  • Experience analyzing and implementing optimization algorithms
  • Recent demonstration of Ada or C++ Software Development
  • Recent MATLAB and Python Experience
  • Experience with Software Containerization and Orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm Charts, Docker)
  • Experience with Agile Project Management tools (Jira/Confluence) and DevSecOps tools and methods (Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Gitlab) of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment (CI/CD) automation
  • Unix/Linux Operating System Experience
  • Read and interpret Modeling and Simulation
  • Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment

Special Skills Desired:
  • Experience with solving highly mathematical and physics based complex problems involving developing fire control solutions
  • Highly experience with Linux, scripting, and operations
