Job Summary
We are seeking a Front-End Software Engineer to support the implementation and feature-level development of a large-scale ground system. This is a hands-on development role focused on coding, implementation, and delivering user-facing functionality against established requirements and architectural designs. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with modern front-end technologies, API integration, and collaborative software development practices. This position is onsite in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement front-end features based on defined system requirements and architectural designs.
• Develop, enhance, and maintain user-facing components for a complex ground system.
• Collaborate with back-end engineers, system architects, and integration teams to deliver cohesive functionality.
• Translate UI/UX designs and requirements into performant, testable code.
• Participate in feature-level design discussions and code reviews.
• Contribute to incremental improvements, bug fixes, and application enhancements.
• Support integration and testing activities as features are delivered.
• Work within Agile or hybrid development teams to execute established development plans.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on front-end or full-stack implementation.
• Strong experience with modern front-end technologies and frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar.
• Proven ability to deliver feature-based development in structured environments.
• Solid understanding of consuming APIs and integrating with back-end services.
• Experience working from clearly defined requirements and designs.
• Strong ability to work effectively in collaborative engineering environments.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting large or complex software systems.
• Experience working on government, aerospace, or defense programs.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Exposure to regulated software development environments.
• Experience enhancing or refactoring existing codebases during implementation phases.
• Experience developing front-end user interfaces using Astro UX.
• Experience with Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript frameworks such as React, jQuery UI, or OpenLayers.
• Experience with Spring Framework, Hibernate, RDBMS, MongoDB, REST, or OpenAPI.
• Experience using dependency management and automation tools such as Ivy, Maven, Gradle, Git, or Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD), Agile software development, DevSecOps, and CI/CD practices.
