Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of embedded software development experience for avionics.
• Proficiency in developing software for various FMS functional areas, such as performance, predictions, flight planning, navigation, and user interface.
• Knowledgeable in the DO-178B/C software development lifecycle.
• Experience with software architecture design and object-oriented programming, particularly in C++.
• Familiarity with software test planning and generating test cases to meet system requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Flight Management Systems software based on legacy NGFMS functionality.
• Transform existing systems to comply with NGA FMS Product specifications for various aircraft classes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive software integration within avionics systems.
• Create detailed software test cases and procedures derived from system and software requirements.
• Participate in software architecture design discussions and decisions to improve software functionality.
• Contribute to software configuration management to maintain the integrity of the codebase.
