Full Job Description
We offer a hybrid work schedule (one week in the office, one week of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, build medium complexity applications ensuring that the code follows latest coding practices and industry standards. Work closely with other software engineers and team members to understand the system end-to-end and perform system analysis. Analyze, design, configure and develop the business logic and backend systems. Complete the work needed to implement features from the product backlog. Work closely with Product/Business Owner to understand stories and requirements from both Business and Technical perspective. Size/estimate user stories/requirements. Perform unit testing and execute all testing related activities including the automation of test cases where applicable. Create necessary project and product artifacts including support documentation. Work closely with other team members to ensure features meet business needs. Work collaboratively with infrastructure, security and other partners. Collaborate with Portfolio Architects to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture standards. Communicate with Product/Business Owner, Engineering Lead, UI/UX Designer or Scrum Master/Project Manager to ensure stories/tasks are delivered on schedule. Perform ongoing product maintenance and resolve issues (e.g. break/fix) as support requests arise. Mentor less experienced team members.

Candidates for this role may be located in the Richmond, VA, or Cayce, SC area.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
  • 2-3+ years of in-depth experience in programming or systems analysis desired.
  • Experience in adapting and applying rapidly changing technology to business needs.
  • Familiarity with generative AI concepts and AI-assisted development tools, with the ability to effectively and responsibly use AI to improve software engineering productivity.
  • Assist or provide support for server administration - requesting and setting up servers including patching and certificate renewal.
  • Ability to create Powershell scripts for task automation.
  • Understanding of F5 / Load Balancing.
  • Understanding of System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) for managing web farms.
  • Good understanding of Windows and Web Server Administration including SSL /TLS protocols and IIS configurations.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, a strong customer service mindset, and solid problem-solving skills.
  • Will be required to take part in 24x7 on-call rotation and overtime is occasionally required for project demands.

$81,900 - $106,400

The expected hiring base salary range is the range we anticipate hiring within for this position. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as the selected candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and work location.
