About the position

The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support our wide array of products and services. This role will work closely with other designers, product development engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software that meets our business needs and enhances the user experience.

Your main responsibilities
  • Design, plan, develop, and maintain software applications and systems in accordance with Dometic's strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and refine software requirements.
  • Create and update detailed software design specifications and documentation.
  • Implement software solutions, ensuring high performance, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues and bugs.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to incorporate best practices into software design.

A suitable background would be
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering, mechatronic engineering, software engineering, computer science or other related fields.
  • Demonstrated professional experience in software design and development including:
  • Development experience with 16/32 bit MCU such as ARM Cortex-M.
  • Working experience with one or more serial communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with version control system such as GIT and issue tracking system such as JIRA.
  • Proficiency with engineering tools such as oscilloscope, multimeter, or logic analyzer.
  • Strong proficiency with firmware design, development, validation, and documentation
  • Excellent software design and programming skills in programming languages such as C / C++, Java, Python, or other relevant languages.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, such as Agile and Scrum is preferred.

Annual Salary Range: $100,000 CAD to $120,000 CAD
