Overview

Credence has an immediate need for a Software Engineer at journeyman level to support our Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) program at Robins AFB, GA. The Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) is an intelligence enterprise system, comprised of 27 active duty, Air National Guard (ANG), and mission partner sites, interconnected by a robust communications infrastructure spanning the globe.

The Software Engineer will perform work that applies a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of SW engineering to include but not be limited to reviewing, preparing, and analyzing all types of documentation: Planning, requirements, design, V&V, support and test. Also, include source code, configuration files and engineering resolution support.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below:
  • Determining operational feasibility by evaluating data, analyses, technical reports, requirements, and proposed solutions of assigned systems or programs
  • Documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Improving operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures
  • Obtaining and licensing SW by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products
  • Providing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
  • Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related items, as needed
  • Performing SW Quality Assurance to ensure that developed SW meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications.
  • Working as a member of an agile SW development team. Performing some mix of the below tasks as directed by the Government team leader or engineering lead
  • Elaborate high level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks, in collaboration with users (from Lead Command or operating units) and Government lead engineers
  • Perform coding tasks for features/functions
  • Perform coding tasks for functional and performance tests for features/functions
  • Perform peer design and code reviews with other team members
  • Perform coding/scripting tasks for SW build, packaging, and deployment
  • Perform other SW engineering and documentation tasks as assigned

Requirements

Education, Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Top-Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) eligibility is required
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or computer science from an ABET- accredited university and three (3) years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, three (3) years of which must be in DoD acquisition.
  • OR, seven (7) years of directly related experience with proper certification as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, five of which must be in the DoD.

Required Experience and Skills:
  • Relevant experience includes duties related to AF LCM of weapon systems or weapon system products, identifying technical requirements and deliverables for weapon systems, and validating and verifying product deliveries to ensure adherence of the product to identified requirements.
  • Familiarity with AF LCM processes is required.
  • Knowledge of regulations, policies, and operating instructions as they pertain to the preparation of technical documents, technical data, and systems engineering execution is required.
  • Experience with the programming language specific to the weapon system or program for which the position will support is required; programming languages are non-proprietary and common to other industries (C++, Common Business Oriented Language, Java, Hypertext Markup Language, or C#, etc.)

Required Professional Qualifications:
  • Cybersecurity Qualification is required for Work Role ID 441, Network Operations Specialist. Candidate meets the requirements of Department of Defense Manual (DoDM) 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program for the Work Role identified in the job description

Acquisition Qualification:
  • Defense Acquisition University (DAU) credential program, CACQ 010 Foundational Acquisition Intelligence Credential
  • Or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP), any level
  • Or a degree or certificate in LCM, Product LCM, or related field from any University or learning institute accredited by a U.S. Department of Education approved accrediting organization

Systems Engineering Qualification:
  • Systems Engineering Certificate or Degree from an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited school
  • Or DAWIA APDP Certification in the Engineering & Technical Management functional area, Level II,
  • Or International Council on Systems Engineering certification: Associate Systems Engineering Professional, or Certified Systems Engineering Professional, or Expert Systems Engineering Professional certification.
