The Framework Integration Team (FIT) is a software automation team that implements and maintains a cross platform Test Automation Framework that enables rapid, repeatable testing of flight software across multiple airframes. We are looking for a Software Engineer Sr to join our mission!
What You Will Be Doing:
Your responsibilities will support the technology development lifecycle, including:
• Design & develop test automation infrastructure (Python driven) that integrates with a C++ codebase and supports simulated, hardware in the loop, and laboratory environments.
• Create, maintain, and extend reusable tooling (open source, commercial, and in house) for continuous integration, test execution, and result analysis.
• Support virtual development labs and aircraft software build pipelines, ensuring reliable delivery of test artifacts to external software teams.
• Lead small software sub teams (2 5 engineers) through sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews, and technical demos.
• Collaborate with multi program stakeholders (aircraft, simulation, and systems engineers) to gather requirements, troubleshoot failures, and drive automation improvements.
• Document architecture, usage guides, and troubleshooting procedures for internal and external teams.
• Participate in inter organizational customer interactions to align automation capabilities with program needs.

• Passionate about aircraft software and test automation, with a strong interest in advancing cross platform testing capabilities.
• Experienced with Python, C/C++, Linux, and Windows environments, and eager to expand expertise in CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
• U.S. citizen able to obtain and maintain an interim Secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college/university in a STEM discipline (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience with software unit testing and/or integrated software system testing
• Proven Python development experience.
• Background with Linux and Windows environments.
• Demonstrated ability to design, build, and operate software infrastructure and libraries for test automation.
Desired skills
• Experience with CI tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab, or Bitbucket
• Experience with automation tools and development
• Experience programming in C/C++ and other languages.
• Experience with debugging tools and methodologies
• A strong interest in supporting software development for avionics systems
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining high availability software infrastructure supporting large scale user bases and cross functional product line integrations.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $76,500 - $134,895. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $88,000 - $152,490. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
