Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Automation Engineering Lead to drive enterprise-wide automation initiatives and process improvement efforts. This role will partner with stakeholders across multiple business functions to identify operational inefficiencies, streamline workflows, improve data accessibility, and reduce manual effort through innovative automation solutions.

This is a player-coach role, combining strategic leadership with hands-on development and implementation responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform technologies, business process optimization, and data integration while serving as a trusted advisor to business leaders and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Business Process Analysis & Improvement

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate existing workflows and identify automation opportunities.
  • Document and analyze current-state processes, recommending improvements before automation implementation.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and workshops with business stakeholders.
  • Translate business challenges into scalable automation solutions.
Automation Design & Delivery

  • Design, develop, and deploy workflow automation solutions using Microsoft Power Automate and related technologies.
  • Build applications and process solutions using Power Apps.
  • Establish governance standards, best practices, and development frameworks for automation initiatives.
  • Lead the architecture and implementation of enterprise automation programs.
Data Integration & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain data workflows to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Enable automated data movement and integration between business systems.
  • Support reporting platforms such as Power BI and other analytics tools.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across multiple sources.
Systems Evaluation & Integration

  • Assess emerging technologies, platforms, and third-party solutions to support business objectives.
  • Evaluate system compatibility, integration requirements, and long-term scalability.
  • Provide recommendations based on business value, efficiency gains, and return on investment.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Strong experience designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions using Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Proven background in business process analysis, workflow optimization, and process improvement.
  • Experience working with enterprise data integration and reporting solutions.
  • Familiarity with Azure Synapse, data warehousing, or comparable data platforms.
  • Exposure to ERP systems such as Dynamics 365 or similar enterprise applications.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with JSON, CSV, XML, and Excel-based data sources.
  • Knowledge of identity management platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
  • Experience supporting Power BI or other business intelligence solutions.
  • Exposure to Python or other scripting languages for automation.
  • Background supporting organizations with multiple locations, distributed operations, retail environments, logistics, or service-based operations.
