PayPal, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA
Job Duties: Design, develop, and optimize core systems that power millions of transactions daily, directly impacting customers' experiences and our company's success. Design and implement RESTful services, focusing on scalability and reliability, using Java. Build and implement scalable backend solutions and systems. Optimize system performance and reliability, troubleshoot and solve technical issues with rapid iteration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. Mentor junior engineers. Maintain advanced proficiency in backend development Java, Python, Ruby on Rails, Spring MVC, and Hibernate. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience in designing and developing large-scale distributed software applications using Object-Oriented Design and Java (2 years)
2. Experience with designing and building RESTful APIs for microservices (2 years)
3. Experience with developing enterprise systems using Spring Frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring MVC, Spring Cloud, Spring Batch, and WebSocket (2 years)
4. Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP or Azure (2 years)
5. Applying data structures and algorithms, along with using enterprise design patterns (2 years)
6. Experience with database design, including SQL and NoSQL databases, and experience with ORM tools and framework like Hibernate (2 years)
7. Experience in building asynchronous event-driven enterprise systems using messaging frameworks like Apache Kafka and ActiveMQ (2 year)
8. Experience in optimizing system performance and reliability (2 years)
9. Experience in designing and developing scalable, high-performance microservices (2 years)
10. Exposure to GraphQL and mobile platforms like iOS and Android (1 year)
Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications:
The base pay for this role will depend on where you work and the relevant experience and expertise you bring. The expected range of pay for this role by location is:
Primary Location | Pay Range:
San Jose, California | Salary: $169,576.00-243,500.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Additional compensation for this role may include an annual performance bonus, equity, or other incentive compensation, as applicable.
