About the team and the role:
eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in San Jose, CA
What you will accomplish:
Job Duties: Develop software engineering processes and standards to enhance eBay's buying experience. Drive architecture discussions, produce well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews. Lead and estimate engineering effort, plan implementations, and rollout for applications integrating with cross-functional components. Analyze software product requirements and transform them into scalable technical designs by collaborating with Technical Leads and Product Managers. Design and test search ranking and monetization software features and solutions using large-scale web services and backend applications using Java, C++, and related technologies. Collaborate with scientists and product managers to deploy complex yet scalable core algorithmic logic. Develop automated tests and deliver high-quality software code to production within a short development cycle in the continuous integration and delivery environment. Create robust data pipelines and real-time monitoring and optimization algorithms using experience in designing and operating big data processing pipelines, such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and ETL. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
What you will bring:
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer and Information Technology or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience designing and developing pipelines for offline data processing systems using Python (2 years)
2. Experience building and extending synchronized data logging systems using Spark and Python (2 years)
3. Experience devising and integrating changes into complex codebases in C and C++ (2 years)
4. Experience with automating data pipeline systems using Airflow (1 year)
5. Experience wth coding distributed big data and data processing systems such as MySQL and Spark (1 year)
Salary: $187,741.00-262,700.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional Details
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
