About the team and the role:
eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in New York, NY
What you will accomplish:
Job Duties: Develop a new, user-friendly eBay event recommendation system, designed to enable non-technical personnel, such as project
managers and event curators, to easily deploy new event recommendation algorithms. Spearhead the architectural strategy and optimization of eBay's training data application, Simplex. Oversee the data quality validation using eBay's internal file systems and query portals, ensuring high standards of data integrity are maintained consistently. Maintain the eBay recommendation algorithm testing tool. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
What you will bring:
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience with object-oriented and functional programming languages: Java, Scala, and JavaScript (2 years);
2. SQL Database (MySQL or Oracle) and NoSQL Databases (MongoDB or HBase);
3. Experience designing and implementing efficient and practical solutions to problems in Java and Scala (2 years);
4. Experience with data processing framework/system: Spark, Flink, and Akka (1 year);
5. Experience with microservices architecture;
6. Test-driven development with CI/CD pipelines;
7. Experience translating new feature requests with design options and providing estimations;
8. Experience identifying issues in design and code and proposing solutions to drive resolution.
Salary: $103,210.00-162,300.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional Details
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
