eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in Austin, TX

What you will accomplish:

Job Duties: Design and develop robust, scalable, and interactive notebooks that serve as powerful tools for data analysis, visualization, and predictive modeling. Optimize performance of notebooks to handle large datasets and complex computations with minimal latency. Connect notebooks to diverse data sources such as databases, data warehouses, APIs, and real-time data streams to fetch and manipulate data efficiently. Implement advanced data visualization techniques to create intuitive and interactive graphs, charts, and dashboards that clearly communicate findings and insights. Build and integrate machine learning models within notebooks, facilitating rapid prototyping, testing, and deployment of predictive models. Utilize tools like Git to manage versions and collaborate with other team members on notebook development projects. Stay updated with the latest developments in notebook technologies, data science, and related fields to continuously improve the functionality and efficiency of notebooks. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. Designing and developing scheduling systems such as Apache Airflow, contributing to high availability and scalability (2 years)

2. Developing analysis notebooks including Jupiter and similar tools, supporting data exploration and model prototyping (2 years)

3. Designing and building metadata management systems (similar to Open Metadata) to improve data governance and accessibility (2 years)

4. Building end-to-end AI projects with a strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, including K-means clustering, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), and auto-encoders (1 year)

5. Working with multiple programming languages and tools including Java, Python, and Shell scripting (2 years)

Additional Details

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
