eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 3 in Austin, TX

What you will accomplish:
Job Duties: Conduct thorough reconciliations on a daily basis to ensure that all transactions are accurate and align with company records. Verify the integrity of financial data and confirm that all entries are recorded in the respective systems without discrepancies. Responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations, which involve more in-depth analyses of accounts. Assess variances and deviations from expected outcomes and provide detailed explanations for these discrepancies, ensuring clarity for all stakeholders involved. Utilize various internal tools and established processes to investigate any discrepancies identified during reconciliations. Cross-reference data with multiple sources and collaborate with other teams to gather necessary information for a resolution. Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing the findings from daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations to present numerical data and provide insightful analysis that will help in understanding trends and potential areas of concern. Meticulously document all findings and evidence related to variance resolution. Maintain accurate records that detail the nature of variances, the methods used to analyze them, and the outcomes of any investigations undertaken. Engage closely with both internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication regarding reconciliation issues. Participate in scheduled meetings with stakeholders to discuss ongoing reconciliation processes, gather insights on emerging issues, and collaboratively devise solutions that benefit all involved. Continually evaluate existing reconciliation processes, identifying areas that could be improved to enhance overall efficiency and accuracy. Drive initiatives aimed at refining workflows, eliminating bottlenecks, and adopting automation tools where appropriate to streamline the reconciliation process. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field such as Electronics Engineering plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field such as Electronics Engineering plus 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Additional Details

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
