Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Junior Software Sustaining Engineer supports released semiconductor inspection and metrology products by troubleshooting customer issues, investigating defects, implementing software fixes, and assisting with product maintenance activities. This role works closely with senior engineers, technical support, applications, and field service teams to improve software reliability, usability, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is a motivated engineer with a strong technical foundation, curiosity to investigate complex issues, and a desire to learn software development practices in a collaborative engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve software defects identified by customers, field service, QA, and internal engineering teams.
  • Support customer escalations through troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and verification of corrective actions.
  • Develop, test, and maintain production-quality software enhancements under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Assist in reproducing field issues using logs, system data, and test environments.
  • Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from experienced engineers.
  • Create and maintain unit tests, automated tests, and validation procedures.
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, systems, applications, and support teams to diagnose system-level issues.
  • Document software changes, troubleshooting procedures, and engineering findings.
  • Support software releases, regression testing, and verification activities.
  • Learn existing software architectures, development processes, and semiconductor inspection workflows.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that increase product stability, serviceability, and maintainability.


Qualifications

Compensation & Growth
• Base Salary Range:
$1,002,233.00 - $1,503,350.00, offered in good faith and based on experience, location, and qualifications.
